Overview

Why Warriors

Warriors Soccer Camp takes the same coaching principles that drive our first team and puts them in front of the next generation. Small groups, real repetition, and a culture built around effort. Every player leaves sharper than they arrived.

Our Story

African Warriors FC is a grassroots football club based in Downtown Louisville, near the Russell and Park Hill neighborhoods. The team was founded in 2023 under the name Upendo FC — later renamed African Warriors FC once it became clear how many of the players shared the same path, coming from similar backgrounds and geographic roots. This camp carries that same identity forward: built by players who found a home in this club, for the next group of kids looking for the same thing.

Salumu D Bolenge
Executive Director & Host

Salumu played a big role in making this camp happen, and he serves as its executive director and host. He has played for African Warriors FC for three years, so this program isn't run from the sideline by someone who has only watched the game. His dream is to eliminate the pay-to-play system, which stood in his own way growing up — this camp is free because of it. Alongside his commitment to the camp, he attends Simmons College of Kentucky, where he studies business management.
